We fully dry-fit your custom cabinets in-house—checking level, reveals, hardware action, and run connections—then label and pack for a fast, error-free installation.

Simple Steps for Custom Cabinets Projects

Step 1: Share CAD Drawings & Get a Quote from a Custom Cabinet

Upload your CAD drawings (.DWG/.DXF) and BOQ to receive a clear plan and price.

As your custom cabinet supplier, Mulan Build reviews your CAD files, scope, and finishes, then proposes value-engineered options. You’ll get a free quotation, a 35–45 days lead-time window, and an initial consolidation plan for mixed containers.

Step Two Determine the Use of Cabinetry
Step One Determine Specifications

Step 2: Design And Custom Cabinets Online or Offline(Based on Your CAD)

Project-specific design drawings and samples prepared just for your job.

Once you approve the quote, our designers will transform your CAD drawings into 2D and 3D visuals and keep adjusting them until you’re fully satisfied.

Step 3: Custom Cabinet Manufacturing with Unified QC

Factory work is carried out under one project manager and one unified QC standard.

After the design is signed off, we start production with clear, tracked milestones. Materials are checked, cabinet carcasses and doors are machined, finished and assembled, and every batch is inspected. Quality control is photo-documented at each key stage.

Step Three Determine Materials, Shipping, And Budget
Step Four Implement Plan and Production

Step 4: Export Packing, Consolidated Shipping & After-Sales

Seamless delivery from factory to site, handled end to end by one one-stop supplier.

Cabinets are wrapped with export-grade protection and sent palletized or flat-packed as required by your site layout. We coordinate mixed-container loads, prepare all documents, and stay involved through installation and final punch-list completion.

Selection of Cabinet Base Materials

Solid Wood Board

Solid wood boards are cut directly from logs, so every panel has a natural grain and unique color variation. They offer good strength and a premium, “real wood” look, but are sensitive to temperature and humidity changes and more likely to warp or crack over time. Because of the high cost and stability issues, solid wood is usually reserved for visible parts such as doors, frames and decorative trims rather than the full cabinet carcass.

Plywood / Multi-layer Board

Plywood is built from several thin layers of wood veneer that are cross-laminated and pressed together. This structure makes the board strong, dimensionally stable and less prone to warping than solid wood, with good screw-holding performance and load-bearing capacity. It is very suitable for cabinet bodies in kitchens, wardrobes and laundry rooms. The price is higher than particleboard, and edges need proper sealing to achieve a refined finish.

OSB – Oriented Strand Board

OSB is made from long wood strands that are oriented in different directions and hot-pressed with resin. The result is a very strong, tough panel with good screw-holding and impact resistance, often used where strength and moisture resistance are important. However, the surface is relatively rough and decorative effect is limited, so OSB is normally used as a structural substrate that needs to be covered with PET or other finishes rather than being left exposed.

Particleboard

Particleboard is produced from small wood particles and chips that are mixed with resin and pressed into a flat panel. It offers a smooth, even surface, stable thickness and good cost performance, making it widely used for cabinet carcasses and shelves in kitchens, wardrobes and storage rooms. At the same time, its moisture resistance and load-bearing capacity are lower than plywood, and all exposed edges must be sealed properly to prevent swelling and improve durability.

MDF – Medium Density Fiberboard

MDF is made from fine wood fibers bonded with resin and pressed under high pressure. The core is dense and smooth, which makes it easy to machine into grooves, curves and detailed profiles – ideal for routed shaker doors, carved patterns and classic style fronts. The surface finishes well with PVC foil or paint. Its weaknesses are lower moisture resistance and lower screw-holding strength, so MDF is more suitable for doors, wall panels and decorative parts rather than heavy, load-bearing cabinet boxes.

Custom Cabinet Surface Finishes Selection

Wood Veneer Finish

Wood veneer is a thin layer of real wood bonded onto the board, keeping natural grain and warm, authentic texture at a lower cost than solid wood. It gives cabinets an upscale “solid wood look” while still allowing stable engineered cores inside.

Lacquer / Paint Finish

Lacquer is a high-end painted finish with rich color, strong gloss and a smooth, full touch. It requires multiple coating and sanding steps, looks very premium, but is more sensitive to knocks and chips than foil or laminate surfaces.

PET Finish

PET is a food-grade, eco-friendly film pressed onto the board to create a very smooth, modern surface. It offers bright, uniform colors, good scratch resistance and a “baby-skin” soft touch, available in both matte and high-gloss looks.

Melamine Finish

Melamine is the most common cabinet surface: durable, scratch-resistant and easy to clean. The decorative paper is fused to the board under high temperature, giving a hard, practical finish widely used on both sides of standard cabinet panels.

PVC Lamination

PVC lamination uses thermoforming (vacuum pressing) to wrap a PVC foil over the panel, allowing 3D shapes, curves and classic door profiles. It is especially suitable for routed or carved doors and decorative fronts, rather than plain flat panels.

Countertop Material Selection

Quartz Stone Countertop

Durable quartz stone with a smooth, modern look. Highly resistant to stains, scratches and daily wear, easy to clean and ideal for busy family kitchens and vanities.

Marble Countertop

Natural marble with elegant veins and a luxurious feel. Each slab is unique; it looks high-end but needs more gentle care and regular maintenance than engineered surfaces.

Sintered Stone Countertop

Sintered stone with a slim, contemporary profile. Very high resistance to heat, scratches, UV and stains, suitable for both indoor and selected outdoor countertops with simple daily cleaning.

Customized Cabinets FAQs

A:The cost of custom cabinets can vary significantly depending on several key factors: the size of the project, the materials selected, the level of customization, and the complexity of the design. For example, a simple kitchen cabinet setup for an apartment will cost less than a full-house solution for a villa or a commercial project.

A:Yes—custom cabinets are absolutely worth it if you’re looking for a long-term solution that fits your space, lifestyle, and design vision perfectly. Unlike stock options, custom cabinetry is tailored to your exact layout, offering better space efficiency, higher material quality, and a seamless look that enhances both function and aesthetics.

A:Generally, yes—custom cabinets tend to cost more than stock or semi-custom options. However, the higher price reflects the added value: precise fit, personalized design, better materials, and long-term durability. You’re not just paying for cabinets; you’re investing in functionality, aesthetics, and space optimization tailored exactly to your needs. In many cases, custom cabinets can actually save money down the line by reducing waste, avoiding rework, and maximizing usable space—especially in kitchens, villas, and uniquely shaped rooms.

A:Yes, custom cabinets are built to last longer than most mass-produced options. They’re crafted with higher-quality materials, precision manufacturing, and detailed craftsmanship that ensures durability over time. Because they’re made specifically for your space and usage needs—whether it’s a busy kitchen cabinet or a full storage system in a villa—they’re less likely to suffer from poor fit, premature wear, or structural issues.

A:The timeline for custom cabinets typically ranges from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your project. Simple kitchen cabinet orders may take less time, while full-home or commercial builds—such as villas, hotels, or offices—require longer planning and production cycles. We begin production once your design, materials, and layout are confirmed. Our team will provide you with a detailed schedule and keep you updated every step of the way to ensure timely delivery.
